Happy Thursday, we made it through hump day you’ll!
1 Corinthians 6: In verses 9&10, Paul writes a list of sins of which if we abide in we won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Then in verse 11 he says ‘And such were [past tense] some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.’ My past included sins enlisted in v9&10. If being forgiven and having the opportunity to inherit the kingdom of God while dwelling in his eternal presence is not enough motivation for abstaining from this listing, after being washed and sanctified, then maybe verse 20 will motivate us. ‘For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.’ Sometimes we need to remember the roots of our faith. May we never forget the ultimate price he paid on the cross for our sins. When we got baptized we were washed by his blood, we are now His temples. Our bodies do not belong to us anymore. I’ve been guilty of glorifying God in the spirit and not with my body. How contradictory and hippocratically of me. I must glorify him with both my spirit and body becuase I am His now he bought me with his blood. I must remind myself that glorifying God is not only lifting my hands up in church, but also saying No to the things I know are sin.
