Happy Sunday ! I hope everyone had a great week and having an awesome weekend! Several of you kept in touch with me during the week and I appreciate the connection even though I was not blogging, y’all are awesome!
I got home from vacation around 6:30 pm Friday. I had meant to post pictures on the drive home but, I fell asleep. So here is my recap!
At least once a year, we try to drive to Padre Island, which is about 3 hours away from us. We usually stay right on the beach, but due to last year’s hurricane the hotel we normally stay in was still dealing with the after math. However I think we still had a great view and we just had to cross the street :).
For whatever reason my phone is not letting me upload images fromย before the 8th :/. So I can’t show youย but, more importantly than the view were the memories Iย made with my family at the beach ๐ย ๐
At the hotel pool
Walking different piers daily was one of my Favorite activities. Feeling the sea breeze while walking towards where ‘the sky met the sea’ was amazing. I couldn’t get enough of God’s beauty!
One day we walked two different piers that were opposite ends of the island, and my husband rented a golf cart. It was a lot of fun for the girls and I wish I had taken pictures of them. I took a selfie with my youngest in the back then later on by my lonesome when I left them at the beach and returned the golf cart. I’ve ridden in one plenty of times but, never driven one, so it was definitely selfie worthyย ๐! I wanted to remember the moment because aside from it being the first time, I was not expecting ‘me time’ during this trip. When my husband asked if I wanted to return it, we still had an hour remaining and the rental place was just a couple of blocks away. However, as I started driving I felt an exhilarating excitement as the breeze came over me and I gazed at the view before me. I was granted a moment of freedom in which I drove around the island for like 15 minutes contemplating God’s glory and just praising him for his greatness ๐.
When we left Padre Island on Friday morning we stopped by Corpus Christi to visit the USS Lexington. I took so many pictures and learned so much there, it actually deserves a separate blog post but, I’ll spare you the details and give you the highlights. You can actually get in some of the airplanes and machinery. If you download the QR scanner app you can get all the information you need at each exhibit. Also there is a greatย 3D movie where you learn about some of the building process of ships/airplanes and how they are used in war and to aid in world disasters. So these are some of my favorite pictures from there.
After the museum we went to the ultimate Texas burger restaurant, ‘Whataburger’. Again no pictures but all Texans know the first one built was in Corpus. If I am not mistaken this one is the biggest one, with two stories, an ocean view,ย and a patio sitting if you want to feel the sea breeze too;).
As we left, we drive by the Selena Statute (famous tejano singer from Corpus killed in 1995), which officially ended our vacation ;). The end.ย
So glad to hear that you and your family had a good vacation! ๐

I had a lovely visit to Padre Island, Port Isabel and Corpus Christi, in 2012. I loved Selena- horrible how she was killed.

Yes such a tragic end to a young life, she is still loved by many here since her music lives on :). We actually karaoke to some of her songs last night lol ๐.
