September Audio Books

Happy Tuesday, I hope everyone is having a great week so far! I have been procrastinating on my September audio ratings because I listened to so many! 😂 I will post in the order I favored them.

1.The Princess Bride

Screenshot_20181019-040755This version  is amazing! I listened to it twice back to back. Everyone is always surprised to know that I have never seen the movie. However this has inspired me to check out more classics. I rate it a 5 star!

2. Secrets of a Charmed Life

Screenshot_20181019-040657This was the first book I’ve heard/read by Susan Meissner and I was not disappointed!! It was a slow start at first but by second chapter I was hopelessly captured 😉. This was by far the best WWII era novel I’ve heard/read this year, with a time slip plot, a lot of action, mystery, and a great sister tale. Anyone who follows me knows how I love a good sister book and yes I cried. I rate this a 4 1/5 🌟.

3. Inherit the Dead: A Novel

Screenshot_20181019-040843This was one of the best suspense audio books ever. The use of the second person was amazing, I mean ‘you’ are one of the bad guys here! 21 popular authors here with a chapter each this book is wow. This is five 🌟 quality but some of these authors used profanity language (not a Christian book), I personally give it a 4 & 1/2 🌟.

4.The Wedding Dress

5.A Stranger at Fellsworth (A Treasures of Surrey Novel)

6. Hidden Places: A Novel

This was a slow paced book for me however I really enjoyed it. I’m pretty sure I laughed out loud throughout the book. She was a new author to me whom I will check out more of her books in the future. I rate it a 4 star.

7.The Undoing of Saint Silvanus

Screenshot_20181030-175917This was an enjoyable book with such an intriguing plot. It had me cracking up and I found myself not wanting it end. I wish it had a stronger ending somehow or that it will have a book two. I actually own this almost 500 page book and chose to borrow the audio instead 😁. Anyway 4 star for not being longer l😂 lol.

8.The Shack

Screenshot_20181030-175938I’m not a movie watcher but many friends recommend this one so I decided to listen to the audio. Many parts in this novel were intense and either made me weep or sent me into deep thought. I didn’t exactly agree with everything but I love how the author notes state that this book had brought many controversial debates and he was happy to see people digging into their beliefs, searching to understand God more. I still won’t watch the movie but perhaps I will check it out again in the future ;). Due to my mix feelings I rate it a 4🌟

9Face of Betrayal (Triple Threat Series 1)

This was an OK book for me. It had a lot of main characters and I struggled to keep up lol. It had suspense but not my fave. I did like how she addressed domestic violence. I rate it a 3.7 🌟 😁

Well if you have made it this far congratulations 🎊 for sticking to it lol. What are you currently listening to or reading?

  1. Face of Betrayal has plenty of suspense but like you I struggles a bit, had to keep rereading chapters to try and keep track of the story. Trying to read “It”, normally I love Kings books but this one is hard work. Completely losing track of what is going on.

  2. Don’t watch the movie, shack…it breaks your heart. The images, I mean. And Lynn Austin is a new author to you? She rocks! I highly recommend you start with “Though Waters Roar”

  3. I think I have that one on hold;). I had heard of her but for whatever never got around to reading her stuff. That’s one great thing about audios, I can cover more books and authors than actually reading them. I love my library app 💕!

  4. I believe it is probably the same as the book, except you have the different voices. It was a lot of dialogue and like I said I didn’t agree with everything said. I probably won’t ever watch the movie or buy the book myself but to me it was worth checking out at the library. Of course I’m the kind of person who will finish a book even if I don’t like it lol.
