Out of th Embers: Book Review

This was the perfect book to read during my bedrest/quarantine πŸ˜‰.

I love historical romance, but add a little mystery to it and it hits the spot!

It’s hard not to fall in love with the town Mesquite Springs and it’s people, but maybe I’m just bias being from Texas. πŸ˜‰

I love the different strengths that both Evelyn and Wyatt have. Also, there’s a child who’s a pretend sister who has a mind of her own and made me giggle throughout.

I must say that it was interesting that author Amanda Cabot put snippets of the villain’s POV. It never gave more than enough to spoil anything. And though the bad guy is caught at the end, it’s not without unexpected twists and turns.

I rate this 5 stars!

Product Description

Ten years after her parents were killed, Evelyn Radcliffe is once more homeless. The orphanage that was her refuge and later her workplace has burned to the ground, and only she and a young orphan girl have escaped. Convinced this must be related to her parents’ murders, Evelyn flees with the girl to Mesquite Springs in the Texas Hill Country and finds refuge in the home of Wyatt Clark, a talented horse rancher whose plans don’t include a family of his own.

At first, Evelyn is a distraction. But when it becomes clear that trouble has followed her to Mesquite Springs, she becomes a full-blown disruption. Can Wyatt keep her safe from the man who wants her dead? And will his own plans become collateral damage?

Suspenseful and sweetly romantic,Β Out of the EmbersΒ is the first in a new series that invites you to the Texas Hill Country in the 1850s, when the West was wild, the men were noble, and the women were strong.

  1. I have had the luxury of being able to meditate throughout the day, when something speaks to me or if I am feeling anxious. Typically, since I am at work so early, my morning time is limited.
